Welcome to our website
We live in a world of abundance, yet millions of children in our world suffer from lack of food, health care, neglect and abuse. Among all children, the children of Africa suffer most.
The challenges facing the children of Africa are many. Thirty thousand babies every year are born HIV positive; diseases such as malaria, polio, respiratory infections and diarrhea are the reasons that most children die under five years of age.
In Africa, a child dies every 10 seconds from malaria.
Surviving this, 34% of children are required to perform child labor. Older siblings or grand parents care for over 900,000 children that were orphaned by AIDS in 2005. Resources, such as safe drinking water, are scarce and ordinary sanitation is practically non-existent. Families survive on an average of $600 a year.
Sherman Healthcare Foundation (SHF) is working hard to make a difference for these children.
Our vision
Is to see a world in which the less privileged persons gain the skills they need to lift their families, their countries, and themselves out of poverty. We believe that through education, even the most impoverished people in the world have the ability to improve their own lives.
Our Commitment
We are committed to using your gift to the fullest possible extent in helping those in need.
After living amongst the less privileged persons in the slums and rural communities of the Eastern part of Uganda, Mr. Andrew Sherman Ojambo and his friend Mr. Eddie Lewis were inspired to make a difference by giving hope to the hopeless and inspiring them to have a reality of life.
In Septermber 2007, they founded SHERMAN HEALTHCARE FOUNDATION. It was registered in Uganda as a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing Hope, Education, Love and Protection to children and the less privileged communities. The foundation first established its programs in Eastern Uganda, Africa, with an ultimate vision of carrying out the mission in other parts of the world that have the less fortunate persons.
